Dear 2023,

As I bid you farewell, I can’t help but reflect on the experiences you wove into the fabric of my life. We started our journey together in Kolhapur, seeking the blessings of Mahalakshmi, setting the tone for a year that would be both spiritually enriching and challenging.

The year kicked off with the simplicity of family and the joy of shared moments, from movie nights with my cousin to the auspicious Darshan in Kolhapur. Meeting Ankur Warikoo in Pune was a highlight, a brush with celebrity adding a unique touch to the mundane.

Renewing my passport was symbolic, a commitment to new horizons and adventures. Pawna Lake camping with friends illuminated the beauty of companionship, while the discovery of “Diamond Painting” added a creative spark to my routine.

Exploring ancient temples in Pune connected me to the city’s rich history, each selfie and photo a testament to moments cherished. While the gym didn’t hold my interest, the dedication to health paused. Marvel and DC movies provided an escape, and the Guhagar Beach trip with my cousin was a breath of fresh air.

An episode of bronchitis tested my resilience, but recovery taught me the strength within. Volunteering with the Technical Writer’s Tribe, though brief, was a community touchpoint. Visits to the Red Hat office and the spiritual journey on Instagram unfolded parallel chapters of my year.

Jagannath Puri’s Rath Yatra with my dad was a pilgrimage, a spiritual milestone. Three Instagram accounts mirrored my diverse interests, each a canvas for expression. Writing blogs became a ritual, enhancing my voice and thoughts. Reading became a refuge, shaping my writing prowess.

Professional growth welcomed me with new projects and products. Monsoon road trips and conferences were lessons in spontaneity and knowledge acquisition. New cafes, cuisines, and a pixie haircut symbolized embracing change and unpredictability.

The year unfolded with musical notes, rekindling old connections, and being the content lead for significant events added professional feathers to my cap. South Korea, my dream destination, became a reality, and shopping sprees added color to my life, quite literally with Converse shoes in every shade.

Birthdays were special, marked by gifts from a dear friend. The almost adoption of a cat, named “Churro,” was a heartwarming thought, even if it didn’t materialize. A Kokan road trip and Diwali festivities added cultural richness, while trampoline parks and small canvas paintings celebrated the child within.

Ending the year with anticipation for 2024, I realized you were not my best year, but undeniably a year of growth, resilience, and diverse experiences. Thank you, 2023, for the lessons, laughter, and the beautifully imperfect memories.

With immense gratitude,

Kalyani ❤
